Throughout the first half of the school year, the Power House students have been using the Estimation 180 website as a warm up to begin class. The hope is that this will improve the students' estimation skills and help them develop better number sense. You can click on the earlier link to check out the site. This week students were assigned the task of creating their own "Estimation 180" example that they can share with the class. By Friday, Jan. 30th, the students should have a picture to estimate, a question that goes with the picture, and the answer, all emailed to me. The example they choose may be something from home or something from school. I'm excited to see what the students share.
